Noise sensitivity is real and common, yet it is often dismissed. Too many people are quietly told to cope better. We exist to change that. The problem is a world that is too loud, not the person living in it.

The founder
who is behind hushri
Who is behind hushri?
hushri was founded by Nadine Benjamin, and is shaped today by a small team who care deeply about this work. It began at home, with a family learning what it means to live with noise sensitivity.
Why it exists
Noise sensitivity is real, and it can be hard, for adults and children alike. When a child experiences the world as too loud, it reaches into everything: school, sleep, mealtimes, and the calm of family life. Nadine's young son, who is autistic and experiences sound intensely, is the heart of why hushri exists. She wanted to help build a world that recognises noise sensitivity as real and significant, so that his future, and many others', can be a little kinder and a little quieter.

Because it comes from lived experience and real care with the facts. We take a research-informed approach: claims are checked, sources matter, and anything uncertain is said plainly. Above all, hushri is made by people who understand what it is to find the world too loud, and corrections are always welcome.
